In fact, it found half of completions that took place during September 2021 took 17.6 weeks to conclude – that’s from when the sale was agreed to completion day. If you were lucky and you made the cut off point of 20th August, you’ll stand a fair chance of unloading the removal van on Christmas Eve.
For everyone else – those desperate for viewings, in a chain, waiting on mortgage offers or chasing conveyancing solicitors - the painful truth is almost every sale that started after August simply won’t make it across the line this year.
