After using average rental price data and average income salary for cities, Durham is the most affordable city to rent a property in for the second year running! In 2019 just 23% of your monthly salary would go towards rent in Durham. In 2020, Durham became even more affordable with just 21% of your salary, needed on average to secure a rental property in the city.
In 2019, Brighton was the UK’s most unaffordable city to rent in. This year, Oxford tops the charts, with a 66% of your salary needed to afford rent on average.
